Scroll Frame-Tall

One of my best friends in NC lost her husband last Saturday.  I know she is devastated.  I wanted to send her some comfort so I decided to send a poem my doctor sent me after my husband died.  I decided to create a frame for it so she could have it on display.

I made this frame from an svg file from My Scrap Chick.  It is called Scroll Frame-Tall.  I added some Anna Griffin flowers and some pearls for bling.

This is the poem I sent  her.  It's comforting to know they are in the "next room" waiting for us.

Death Is Nothing At All

Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other
That we are still
Call me by my old familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way you always used
Put no difference into your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed
At the little jokes we always enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort
Without the ghost of a shadow in it
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is absolute unbroken continuity
What is death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you for an interval
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost
One brief moment and all will be as it was before
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Blessings Card - My Scrap Chick

If you ever use SVGs My Scrap Chick is having a wonderful sale right now.  The deal is if you order 10 items, you get them for .50 cent each, no matter what the original cost.  I ordered 11 items for $5.50.  Some of them were multi-item svg's.  This card came from a product called Blessings Trio which consisted of the card, a basket and a box.

I tried uploading the svg into Cricut Design Space but it didn't upload correctly.   So I decided to try importing into Silhouette Studio.  It imported flawlessly so I used  my Cameo to cut out all the pieces.  The Cameo did not cut as well as my Cricut Explore but at least I didn't  have the hassle of resizing everything.  I'm hoping this will be corrected for CDS soon.

I cut the card and all the embellishments exactly as designed, embossed the background piece with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and assembled the card.  I think it will make a darling Thanksgiving card.

Thank you for your visit today.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

A Foiled Birthday Card

I guess you all have heard of one of the latest things in crafting and that is foiling.  When Anna Griffin introduced her Minc machine on HSN, of course I had to order it.  Truthfully, I haven't used it much.  Actually I haven't been very active creatively for a while.  It seems my open heart surgery took a lot out of me.  Well this week, I made up my mind I was going to make something with it.  The results were this card.

I cut 3 balloon shapes from toner paper (it has to be toner, it can't be from and ink jet printer), chose 3 different color foil sheets and ran them through the Minc machine.

I embossed the card base with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder, adhered my balloons, added some twine and a sentiment I cut from Cricut Design Space.

Thank you for visiting with us today.  We enjoy reading your comments.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Vintage Butterflies Card #2

I love these butterflies from the Vintage Butterflies in CDS.  So simple to print them out and cut them with the Cricut Explore.  Add a little Stickles and you're all set to use them on a card like this one.

The butterfly border is one I won from Enfys Cashmore at Going Buggy a while back.  I really like this card.

Thank you for visiting.  I hope you will come again.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

Vintage Butterflies #1

There are some beautiful print then cut files in Cricut Design Space.  There are Vintage Butterflies, Vintage Birds, Vintage Florals and Vintage Phrases.  I used one of the Vintage Butterflies for this card.

I printed and cut it twice.  Place it on a doily and added some liquid pearls and stickles.  I like the way it turned out.

Thank you again for visiting.  We would love to hear from you.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Floral Embellishments/Cuttlebug Card

This card features another of Anna Griffin's Floral Embellishments.  I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder to emboss the card base.  The pink background was cut with one of Anna Griffin's Dies.  These dies add so much to a card.  I added a bow to the flowers.

AG Floral Embellishment

Anna Griffin has release several packets of Floral Embellishments and I think I own most of them.  The flowers are put together with foam adhesives to give dimension.  This card features one of them.

I used one of AG's border Cuttlebug Folders to decorate the edge of the card, then applied Wink of Stella for shine.

Thank you so very much for visiting us today.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Anna Griffin Cuttlebug Folder & Die

Today's card uses one of Anna Griffin's Cuttlebug Folders and one of her beautiful dies.  This card was very easy.

After embossing the card base, I attached the floral die and added pearls.  Simple.

AG Rose Background Card

If you know me, you know I love most things Anna Griffin.  I've made several cards using some of her images in Cricut Design Space.

This card features "Rose Background" from Anna's Garden Cards and Embelllishments cartridge.  I added stickles to the cutouts.  The bird is from the Vintage Birds collection in CDS.  These are print then cut images.  I added some stickles to it and cut craft foam in the same shape to mount it on.

Thank you for visiting with us today.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

Vintage Butterflies Card #2

This card features another of the Vintage Butterflies from Cricut Design Space.  The butterfly border is one I won from Enfys Cashmore of Going Buggy a while back.  I used the print then cut feature of CDS to make the butterflies along with some stickles for glitter.

Cards Made For SS Care Team

I recently started going to church with my friend, Peggy Lawhorn.  The Sunday School class has a care team that sends cards to it's members.  I made several cards to give to them.  I will be sharing some of them in the next few day.

This batch of cards was made using packs of cards purchased from the $1 bin at Michael's.  Alas, the $1 bins are no more.  They're now $1.50.  I added ribbon, jewels, embellishments to enhance them.  I made the labels using my Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space.

Thank you for visiting with us today.  Please let us hear from you.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy

I Brake For Lovely Hats.

Hi Everyone, I've been MIA for a while.  Much to my surprise, I found I had several arteries to my heart blocked and that led to by-pass surgery.  So this is my first time back.

I chose this vintage looking hat stamp from IBFS.  It is called "Hats".  The background paper is by DCWV and called French Country Stack.  I colored the hats with Promarkers and shaded the oval with chalk.  I also added some of the chalk to the doilies so they wouldn't look so bright white.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will go to the IBFS store.  They have so many stamps, I know you can find something you love.  Be sure to use my code, SAVE10 PEGGY, to receive a 10% discount on your purchases.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Rose Square Banner Card

Here is another card I made using the Anna Griffin Lovely Layered Cards cartridge.  This cartridge is not available yet from Cricut.  It was released on HSN on the July 1 Craft Day.  I like how you just choose your paper, cut out the layers and assemble the card & envelope.  The sentiment is also part of the cartridge.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  I'm in a bit of a hurry because I have to go to the doctor today.  God Bless You!!!! Peggy

I'm Finally Making It Back

For all you wonderful crafters who have prayed for and cheered me on during my open heart surgery and recuperation, I am most grateful.  I would not be here today if it weren't for the Lord and the love and care of my sweet family.  Donna made sure I did not have to do anything nor be by myself for 4 weeks.  She is still coming by and doing things for me.  A mother could not ask for a better daughter.  BIG HUGS, DONNA.  I love you.

Though I have been incapacitated, it has not stopped me from online shopping when Anna Griffin had a show on HSN.  I purchased some new cartridges, embossing folders, AG Minc machine which I will be showing you in the days ahead.  I made myself get in my craft room yesterday and today.  One of the new cartridges I bought was AG Lovely Layered Cards.  It is filled with cards that you just cut the layers out and put them together.  The hardest thing is getting your paper together.

This is my favorite on the whole cartridge. It's called Botanical card.  All the layers make for a rather thick card but it has an envelope included in the file.

Thank you for your support and for visiting with us today.  God Bless You!!!!!  Peggy

Some Not So Good News

I know I've been missing the past few days but I've been having some health issues.  After having an abnormal stress test, I had a heart catherization.  It appears I have one artery totally closed, one 70% closed and one on the back of my heart with 2 blockages.  I am scheduled to see a surgeon Tuesday to discuss by-pass surgery.  I would appreciate your prayers.

I did manage to finish this card for a friend's granddaughter's birthday.

This is a card base from Cricut Design Space and an image from Sassy Studio Designs.  I used Anna Griffin flourishes, flowers and embossing folders.  I hope she likes it.

Here is a close up of the image.
Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm not sure if I'll get anything done tomorrow but we'll see.  Thanks for your comments and prayers.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy

Birthday Card For A Very Special Friend

Many of you know I moved in 2012 to Ringgold, GA to be close to my daughter as my husband had passed away in 2010.  I never knew this little town existed until my daughter married and moved here with her husband.  I didn't know anyone here except my daughter and her family.  I have a rather reserved personality, meaning it's kind of hard for me to get to know new people.  But fortunately for me, there were some wonderful people in my neighborhood who aren't like me.

I got an invitation to a ladies' bible study where I met some great ladies.  I also became acquainted with the ladies in  my section of townhomes.  There are 4 townhomes in our particular section and there are 3 Peggys in it.  Can you believe that??   One of these ladies & I have become good friends and she had a birthday yesterday.  I made her this card and she was very pleased.

I used one of the Make It Now projects in Cricut Design Space.  It is an Anna Griffin Design.  I added some pearls and a AG sentiment .  Have I told you I love almost anything Anna Griffin.

Thank you for stopping by today.  We love your comments and visits.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

PS:  I would appreciate your prayers today.  I have to visit a heart specialist after having an irregular stress test.

I Brake For Victorian

I'm new to hand stamped images (I've mostly used digistamps) but I'm loving these stamps from I Brake For Stamps.  The stamped lines are so crisp and easy to color.  For my card this week, I chose this Victorian Lamp.  I wanted to keep the feel of the card rather subtle so I didn't use bright colors when coloring the image.

The background paper is Anna Griffin Georgette Paper Stack.  I bought this paper a while back and because I thought it was so pretty, I haven't used it.  Anyone else like me?  I colored the image with Promarkers and put Glossy Accents on the lamp to give the effect of glass.  I'm afraid you can't see that in this picture .  I colored a paper doily, folded it and placed the lamp on it to give the impression of a tablecloth.  I like the vintage look of the card.

Thank you for visiting with us today.  I hope you will go to I Brake For Stamps and look through all the products they have to offer.  If you see anything you like, be sure to use my code, Save10Peggy to save 10% off your purchase.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

I Brake For Compassion

I made this card for a friend who is in the hospital with cancer.  I used two I Brake For Stamps sentiment stamps on this one.  The one on the front of the card is "Because You're Hurting" and the one on the inside is "Faith, Hope, Love".  I hope my friend and his wife will find some comfort when they get this card.  These stamps just seem to say what I wanted to say to them.

Thanks for visiting with us today.  We love to read your comments.  I hope you will come visit I Brake For Stamps for your stamping needs.  Be sure to use my code SAVE10PEGGY to receive 10% off your purchase.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

Baby Boy Card - Silhouette

Hi Everyone - a friend of mine is having a baby boy next month and a baby shower is being held for her at work this week.  So of course, I had to make a card to go along with the present.  And since my mojo still hasn't returned, I searched through my downloaded cards for my Silhouette and I found the card below.  It's a 3D Shadow Box card.  You really can't tell it in this picture but it has four different layers.

I think she'll like it!

Thank so much for stopping by today - we appreciate you! Please come back again soon!  God Bless You!  Donna

TEACHER'S GIFTS - Explore, Silhouette

Hi Everyone - This week at my son's school the students are taking what in my day of schooling was called "achievement tests."  The tests that Jacob will be taking this week are called "Georgia Milestones."  Jacob's teachers have worked really hard to try and make sure he and all their students are ready for the tests.  Believe me, Jacob has been stressed out in preparation for these tests.

I personally think that teachers are underpaid and unappreciated for all that they do and have to put up with at school.  I try to show my appreciation for them at least once a month by sending little gifts to brighten their days. The gifts are inexpensive but they seem to appreciate them.

With that in mind, I thought I would send the teachers a little pick me up this week.  I don't know about you, but I love the $1.00 bins at Michael's - especially when the items that I want to buy are on sale for half price.  So let's just say, I hit the jackpot getting a nice pick me up for little money.  I also bought gift bags at Hobby Lobby for half price.  I used my Explore to print my saying for the front of the bags and cut the frame out.

The saying says:  For you --- because you have gone the extra "mile" to make sure your students succeed on the "milestones."

I then used my Silhouette to cut out the carrier for the nail polish and file. Here is a picture of the cards, pencils, nail polish, and nail files that I included in the bags.

I hope they will enjoy this little treat.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  We appreciate your visits and comments.  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna

Aurora Wings "Leann's Angel"

Before I start my post today, I just want to say how delighted I am to have Donna posting again.  When we started the blog we said we were a Mother/Daughter team.  So I'm super happy when she posts.

I tried my hand at coloring with colored pencils again today.  I have watched so many people on Facebook who are so talented and creative with their coloring.  It puts my efforts to shame but I enjoy it so I'll keep trying and maybe I will improve.

I bought this lovely digistamp from Aurora Wings.  Mitzi has some beautiful stamps, if you want to drop by and take a look around.

The frame is from Cricut Design Space cut from a silver and white embossed paper.  The roses and ribbon are from my stash.  The image is called Leann's Angel and she's colored with Prismacolor Colored pencils.

Thank you for visiting with us today.  We love and appreciate all of you.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

HUBBY'S BIRTHDAY CARD! - EXPLORE (again)

Hi Everyone - me again!  Well, I told you that I finally used my Explore - guess what?  I used it again - I'm on a roll!!  My husband birthday was Friday, April 17th and he will NOT accept a store bought card from me or my mother!  He gets insulted if we try to buy him a card for anything!  He also saves all the cards that we make and give him.  He has them in a drawer of the night stand on his side of the bed. Now isn't that the sweetest - everyone say - awwwww!!!!

So with his birthday in mind, I again decided to use my Explore and make another "ready to make" project.  I chose the card below because I liked the colors used in the example on Design Space.  I chose the project and simply followed the instructions step by step to create the card below.  I know he'll like it (and put it with his other collection).

I'm hoping that by using my Explore and making these projects that it will help my mojo come back and I can create some original projects of my own!  Thank you once again for stopping by - you are appreciated!  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna

FIRST TIME TO USE MY CRICUT EXPLORE - EXPLORE, SILHOUETTE

Hi Everyone - I have a confession to make!!  I have been in the deep dark dregs of "no crafty mojo!!" I ordered my Cricut Explore for HSN back in Sept/Oct 2014 as a Christmas present for me from my hubby!!  When it arrived, Mom asked me if I was going to open it before Christmas.  To her shock, I said NO!  So I received the Explore on Christmas day and didn't even tear the paper off the package.  It actually sat in a corner for two months before my son finally removed the paper.  So I took the machine out of the box and put it on it's designated area in my craft "happy space."  It has sat there until now (another two months later) before I decided to make something with it.  Can you believe that I went that long without using my new machine?  Without making some fabulous project?

To be truthful, it would probably still be sitting there if Mom hadn't stayed after me to make something with the Explore.  She said, "once you use it, you're going to love it!" As my mom knows, I don't like changes and I don't like trying to figure "new techy" things out.  That's my mom - she loves techy stuff!  I'm more like my dad - when he got a new tool, he would give the manual to my mom and tell her to read it just in case there was something in there he would need to know.  Like him I want to take the new "tool" out of the box and just use it!!

So I decided to make a "ready to make" project for a friend of mine at work that has a birthday on Friday.  This was a very simple project to make and for someone who's mojo has gone missing for months, turned out very pretty.

The moral of this story is - if you're like me and are afraid to take out your new Cricut Explore and use it - it really is easy to use.  I should have been using it months ago!!

Now the 3d Shadow box below was made with my Silhouette - it was another simple project to make - simply cut and paste together.  My friend with the birthday on Friday loves all things "cardinals" and I made her this 3D Shadow box which includes a cardinal.  I think she'll really like it.

Thank you so much for stopping by - we so appreciate your comments and your visits.  We hope you will come back again soon and if you're like me, you'll find inspiration here to play with your Explore!  Until another day, God Bless You!  Donna

Gate Fold Card

I showed you an image yesterday that I colored with color pencils.  It was a Rick St. Dennis' image called "Miss Midnight's Flirty Feathers".  I submitted it to Rick's FB page and asked for constructive criticism.  Rick and some of his design team offered some advice.  I went back to my image and applied their suggestions and I really like it a lot better.

I made a card with her using an Anna Griffin's Gatefold Cuttlebug folder.  These folders make such beautiful embossed cards.

The flowers & leaves were made with Martha Stewart punches.

Here are the two versions of the RSD image.  The first one is the way I submitted it to Rick's FB page for constructive criticism.

Here is what she looks like after I applied the suggestions made.  Which do you  like better?

I guess I've never grown up because I like to color.  It kind of reminds me of painting.

Thanks for visiting with me today.  I love hearing from you.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Pencil Colored Image

I have been watching videos trying to learn some new creativity.  One I watched was of Rick St. Dennis coloring an image with colored pencils.  He made it look so easy.

So I decide I want to try it.  I went to our new Hobby Lobby (I won a gift card when they had their grand opening) to see what they had in the way of  colored pencils.  Needless to say, they had a variety.  Since I had a 40% off coupon and my gift card, I chose some Prismacolor pencils.  I'm sure they're not the premium kind everyone uses but they were good enough for me to play with.

I spent the afternoon coloring this Rick St. Dennis image, "Miss Midnight's Flirty Feathers".  It's not my best work but I think it's pretty good for my first try.

Thanks for stopping by today.  We appreciate your visits.  God Bless YOU!!!!  Peggy

For A Special Sister

I don't know how many of you are like me but when Anna Griffin is on HSN my credit card heats up.  I keep saying I'm not buying anything else but she makes such pretty things I just can't resist.  One of the things I bought when she was on recently was the Pop-up Card Kit.  This card is from it.  I made it for my sister who is always there for me.  Everyone needs a sister like mine.

Isn't this pretty?  I must say she loved it.  There I go cheating again.  These are good for when your mojo goes on vacation like mine has been lately.

Square Floral Card W/Butterflies

This card is made from a Cricut Design Space file that can be found here.  I chose a different color paper, added pearls to the flowers and butterflies and added ribbon.  As I said before, the Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space make creating a project so easy you feel like you're cheating.

Leave me a link to  your Design Space projects so I can go look at them.  Thank you for visiting with us today.  We love you.  God Bless You!!!  Peggy

Another Sympathy Card

We lived beside a wonderful couple in NC.  No one could have asked for better neighbors than Willard and Becky Benton. Every time I went back to see my son and dauther-in-love, I would go see them. Willard had been in declining health for some time and finally passed away several months ago.  I made this card for Becky.
This is another Cricut Design Space file that can be found here. I made the card exactly by the pattern and added a bow, jewels and a sentiment.  I have also made another card using this same file but with different paper.  Not sure how this one will be used.  That will be decided later.
Thank you for visiting today.  We love our followers.  God Bless You!!! Peggy

Sympathy Card - Friend's Mother

It seemed there was a rash of deaths last month involving people I knew.  One of my best friends,  who I worked with in NC, mother passed away recently. I wanted to make a special card for my friend.  I had just gotten my Anna Griffin interchangeable Cuttlebug Folders from HSN so I decided to use one of them.
Isn't the embossing of this folder beautiful?  The flowers I made from the Cricut Mother's Day Bouquet Cartidge.  The butterfly is from the Cricut Indie Art Cartridge.  I added Wink of Stella to the message to give it some shine.  I think the pink jewels add flare too.

Thanks for visiting today.  We love our followers and would love to hear from you.  God Bless You!!!!  Peggy
